Thanks for the recommendation! Do they have them year round or just for the holidays?

They have them year round. Both vanilla and anise flavors.

I learned to make these from my mother and my aunt, they are my favorite, I was sick this year and my didn’t make them; o did buy some cuccidate from Pellicano and a dozen from a girl that bakes in the side through work. Hers were better than Pellicano. I did make Mexican wedding cakes and thumb prints which are my husbands favorite.

Hi Lucia,

We had Mexican wedding cakes and thumbprints too. My mother made those along with walnut acorn cookies. The cuccidati are my favorite but I’ve never made them. I do have my grandmother’s recipe though. Another place with good cuccidati is Gino’s Italian bakery at the broadway market or on Kenmore Ave.

I love Italian cookies because they are not overly sweet. We have a great recipe for cuccidati given to us by an Italian co-worker of my husband. I usually make them for Christmas but didn't this year. My cousins did get some from a homemade baker that they brought to a family brunch. They were the best I tasted this Christmas. I also have a recipe for and have made the sesame seed Italian cookies (gugeleni??). My aunt used to make pizzelles. Will have to check out the cheesecake shop if I am in the area. Happy New Year!

Giuggiuleni, but I had to look that up. My grandma made those too. The cheesecake at Genevieve's is well worth the pilgrimage down Transit. Happy New Year!
